Sakae Sushi @ Pavillion KL

It is sushi time. I went to this Sakae Sushi outlet in Pavillion KL along with my wife for lunch. A bit about the restaurant..

It all started in 1997 in Singapore, when a man bestowed the most enchanting of odes to his wife. Having fine Japanese cuisine and fresh sushi meant spending top dollars. He noticed that his wife, an avid fan of Japanese food, was always dining consciously at such restaurants for fear of incurring an exorbitant bill. And so the ode began. Motivated to make his wife’s sushi dining experience unique, fulfilling and carefree, he founded Sakae Sushi, a trendy restaurant haven where she, along with every Japanese food enthusiast, could enjoy the freshest, inexpensive Japanese savouries without a worry about cost. Like his love for his wife, nothing about Sakae Sushi is ordinary. From the sushi conveyor belt, its consistently-delicious delectables on the colourful plates, attractive presentation and portions, Sakae Sushi appeals to the budget-conscious, the fresh-food follower, and the stylish sushi connoisseur. Today, Sakae Sushi has grown into a global chain of more than 50 outlets throughout Asia and beyond, serving over 200 varieties of delectables of sushi, sashimi and many others.

As we walk into the restaurant, the environment is kind of inviting and felt very comfy in an elegant way. We sat at the sushi railing as usual so it is convenient for us to grab whatever we wanted to eat. The waitress came over to ask us for our drinks and there seems to be miscommunication there. She looks like a lady from China and doesn't seems to know much English. Anyway, drinks order taken and off we savour the food. There is a lot of choices to choose from and we started to enjoy ourselves.

There is a touch screen monitor on every table which displays the menu. We could just browse through and order what we want. It was acutally quite user friendly and you could always checked back what you have ordered. I ordered myself a Chicken Teriyaki Tendon. It came within 5 minutes. Taste wise is just reasonable.

It was a sastisfying lunch as all the food we ordered was above our expectation. Oh ya below is the prices for the sushi on the conveyor belt. Sorry for the blur images... camera phone mah.. let me write it here..

Green Plate - RM1.90
Pink Plate - RM3.90
Red Plate - RM5.90

Burger King @ Sri Hartamas

Burger King Corp. (BKC) is the second largest fast food hamburger chain in the world with more than 11,200 restaurants in all 50 states and 69 countries and U.S. territories worldwide. BKC was founded in 1954 in Miami, Fla., by James McLamore and David Edgerton. The WHOPPER® sandwich was introduced in 1957 and quickly became one of the best-known sandwiches in the world.

It was quite sometime ago I had not tasted Burger King. So off I went with my wife. I order a BBQ Cheese Burger set and Black Pepper Whopper for my wife. The luncheon was good and I find that the meat were really tender. The Whopper is indeed a tummy filling one as my wife could not finish it and I had to chomp up the remaining. But still, we did not finish our french fries. Just too full!!

The Black Pepper Whopper Set Meal @ RM12.95 ++
The Black Pepper whopper - A flame-broiled beef patty topped with red ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, creamy mayo, kethcup, crunchy pickles, and oninons with Black Pepper sauce, all on a toasted sesame seed bun. Really a tasty burger!

The BBQ Cheese Burger @ RM7.95++
One flamed-broiled beef patty topped with melted American Cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mustard all on a toasted sesame seed bun. A masterpiece of simplicity!

Prawn Mee @ Restoran Chinatown Pavillion

Went for a quick lunch at The Chinatown Pavillion Restaurant located at Jalan Sultan. A hot bowl of Prawn Mee always makes for a deliciously satisfying lunch. A standard bowl of Prawn Mee comes with small shrimp, half a hard-boiled egg, kangkung vege and lots of fried onions. But this stall in the restaurant has 'Fu-Chuk' included too.

The prawn mee just tasted normal. I think what makes a bowl of hot noodle soup actually lies in the soup itself. The soup base was actually too sweet for my liking but they did gave some reasonable portion of shrimps. Not so much of spicy. So I had to eat along with the chilli paste that in a way did make the noodle more tasty. If they could add in pork slices then it would be so much better. Anyway, it still fills up my stomach. The meal costs me RM4.00.
